4th of July

Our ward had a Fourth of July pancake breakfast so I took Shalyn and Logan with me. I did get to see Melissa's boys there and got to hug them. It has been several months since I was allowed to even say hi. All of the kids had a great time with the games and jello eating contest. Logan won the 6-8 and Cody won the 9-12 year olds. So my Fourth of July was different this year than the past. I have always had all my grandkids over for a party and barbeque and later in the evening we would go watch the fireworks. This year with Melissa and children missing from our lifes has been a tear filled experience. Our lifes and hearts are missing out on love and good memories. Melanie brought over John the man that she has been dating for a year. He brought his three kids for games, barbeque and swimming. Later that night Melanie and children, Shalyn (Ricky's daughter) went to the fireworks. We arrived early for a good spot on the church lawn at Val Vista and Brown. As we sat on our blanket on the lawn the sprinklers came on and drowned us. Well were looked like drowned rats but we were cool after the drenching. It did give us a good laugh!! We were joined by Kimberly and Clint after they got off work. We sure enjoyed being together.
